At Tiger Supplies, we offer a wide range of Welders’ Workwear that provides adequate protection against workplace hazards. Our selection of Welders’ Gauntlets and Gloves is ideal for environments where there is a risk of hot welding spatter.

Our Welders’ Gauntlets and Gloves will protect your hands when performing your everyday welding activities. They are comfortable and some feature a cotton lining to the cuff with a soft, comfortable fleece lining to the glove area.

We offer a Heavy Duty Welders Gauntlet with a universal size that has been designed to protect and provide comfort for your hands. This is a traditional red welders’ gauntlet of the highest quality with a leather thickness of 1.0mm. It is self-hemmed and has partial welting to the seams and fingertips. This design meets EN 388, EN 407, EN12477 and EN420 standards.

EN 388 is the standard for gloves protecting against mechanical risks. Our gloves and gauntlets have been tested for abrasion and cut resistance, tearing strength, and impact protection, among other characteristics. This way, the wearer is assured that our products will help them prevent cuts and lacerations as well as other types of hand injuries.

EN 407 is the standard for gloves protecting against thermal risks, such as

  • Contact heat
  • Convective heat
  • Radiant heat
  • Fire
  • Molten metal

Welding Gloves need to meet the performance requirements stated in this standard and are tested for:

  • Resistance to contact heat
  • Resistance to flammability
  • Resistance to convective heat
  • Resistance to radiant heat
  • Resistance to molten metal (small and large splashes)

Gloves are rated from 0 to 4 according to their performance.

EN 12477 is the standard for gloves providing hand protection for welding and similar applications. To meet this standard, welding gauntlets must be effective against :

  • Mechanical hazards
  • Contact heat
  • Short exposure to convective heat
  • Molten metal
  • Short contact exposure to limited flame
  • UV radiant heat

Finally, the EN 420 specifies the general requirements and test methods for protective gloves. Gloves must be resistant to water penetration, have the right size and length, and provide finger dexterity.

According to this standard, there are three categories of gloves:

  • Gloves that protect against minimal risks
  • Gloves that are effective against intermediate risks
  • Gloves engineered to protect against mortal risks and irreversible injuries

If you are a welder, you must be dressed safely for the tasks you perform. In this way, sparks and embers will not penetrate the fabric and cause injury. Therefore, we recommend that you browse our wide range of Welding Clothing and PPE, from prestigious manufacturers, such as JSP and Scott Safety.

In addition to Welders’ Gauntlets and Gloves, Welders’ Jackets and Aprons, Welders’ Face Shields, and Welders’ Overalls and Boiler Suits are also available.
