PPE Quick Tips

How do I find out the mechanical rating of my Safety Gloves?

Most safety gloves display the mechanical rating either on the back of the glove, or on a label inside the glove. The 4 numbers represent the level of protection for Abrasion, Cut, Tear and Puncture resistance. The maximum protection available is a mechanical rating of 4544.

When should I replace my Safety Helmet?

It is recommended that safety helmets are replaced every 2 years. Safety helmets which have been dented / damaged should always be replaced immediately, as using a damaged hard hat can have serious repercussions if impact occurs.
