Dirty safety spectacles or goggles can compromise your vision and put you in danger at work. Thus, it is of utmost importance that you have a Lens Cleaning Station at your workplace. Our quality selection of Safety Eyewear Cleaning products ensures that you will always have your safety eyewear in perfect condition.

We provide safety eyewear cleaning products from reputable brands including Bollé and UVEX. Our Lens Cleaning Stations are either free-standing or wall-mounted, made of cardboard or plastic. They mainly include the following products:

  • Cleaning solution - This cleaning fluid or spray is specifically created for cleaning safety eyewear without damaging the protective coatings on the lenses. Some solutions have an anti static and anti fog formula.
  • Box of tissues - Our tissues are highly absorbent and non-abrasive, perfect for use on plastic, glass and polycarbonate lenses and anti-scratch and anti-mist lenses.

We also offer stations that include a mirror and come with their own mounting screws.

These lens cleaning stations are ideal for workplaces where there are multiple workers as they come with one, two or even four boxes with 200, 450 or 600 tissues. We also offer separate boxes of tissues and cleaning sprays to refill your cleaning stations.

Tips to clean your safety eyewear

Your safety spectacles or safety goggles should be cleaned carefully to avoid damaging the lenses. Improper cleaning can scratch or erode the lenses. Here are some steps to clean your safety eyewear:

  • Remove any dust or debris with water
  • On both sides of the lens, spray a small amount of the cleaning solution.
  • Wipe the lens inside and out with a cleaning tissue.
  • Make sure you wipe the lenses using a circular motion.
  • Avoid scrubbing the lens backwards and forwards.

Recommendations

We recommend you read the instructions coming with the cleaning stations and the eyewear cleaning products.

For instance, UVEX recommends you avoid wiping the lenses dry to allow moisture to evaporate. This way the cleaning solution will be more effective.

In addition, many brands recommend you use their cleaning products only to clean their range of eyewear. So, you may need to take this into account before making a purchase.

Do not use products that have been designed for other purposes. For example, clothing, paper towels or facial tissues may have abrasive fibres that can scratch the lenses. In addition, using other chemicals to clean lenses instead of our cleaning solutions may erode the lens coatings.

How you treat your safety eyewear also has an impact on its work life. Remember to handle the eyewear by holding the frame. Avoid touching the lenses to prevent scratches and smearing.

At Tiger Supplies, we also offer Safety Eyewear Accessories to keep your safety spectacles and goggles in good quality and durable for a longer period of time. Our range of accessories includes cases and microfibre bags to protect your eyewear and preserve its performance.
